As a Senior Engineering Manager, you are the leader, overseeing the delivery, performance, and people management for the Matching and Sourcing squads, composed of 8-10 engineers. You are in charge of the growth and development of how clients and freelancers connect on Malt. Today, they do so via the AI search (our main staffing flow) and the ATS (enabling independent selection and evaluation of freelancers), tomorrow why not a full AI experience? You play a crucial role in defining and implementing our technical strategy, driving project timelines, and fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering environment. This is a hands-on leadership role in which you're shaping the product experience that hundreds of thousands freelancers rely on.
Key responsibilities âš
Contribute to the core of Malt: Build the best end-to-end AI-native sourcing experience and enable clients to find the top freelancers in Europe.
Lead Product Delivery: Partner with design, product, and C-level to define scope, prioritize, and execute projects.
Optimize Team Performance: Maintain code quality and system reliability through active participation in code reviews, architectural guidance, and fostering operational excellence.
Develop and Grow Talent: Provide regular feedback, mentorship, and coaching to support and develop two small engineering teams.
Problem Solver & Facilitator: Enable planning and execution across projects. Ensure engineers remain unblocked and focused.
Impact driven: Champion and cultivate a robust engineering culture that prioritizes ownership, excellence, and collaboration.About you đ§âđ
A significant experience as a hands-on Manager: You enjoy being part of code review, MR, architecture discussion, and technical quality.Â
AIâDriven Innovator: Passionate about AI topics, you regularly keep up to date with the latest developments. You have already worked on AI agent, either professionally or as a side project.
Clear leadership: You excel at working effectively in uncertain and evolving environments, managing the interaction between technical objectives and business priorities.
Methodology: You possess a deep mastery of agile methodologies and best practices for organizing product development teams.
Technical Mentor: You have strong technical and craft skills, enabling you to effectively disseminate best practices within the team and provide valuable coaching to âclassicâ developers or ML engineers.Â
Product Mindset: You have previous experience working in a product company, ideally within an international context.
Resourceful: You always find a way of getting things done, even under severe staffing constraints.Fluent in written and spoken English (French is a plus)
Impactful: You demonstrate excellent ownership and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of agency in driving solutions.
